Composite Design Engineer

Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking to hire an entry level Electrical Engineer focusing on Equipment Development. Come join a dynamic team developing custom equipment and other innovative solutions for the Savannah River Site, DOE complex, and National Security missions. Responsibilities The selected candidate will work with other engineers, researchers, and technicians within Advanced Engineering at Savannah River National Laboratory with an initial focus on automation, robotics, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition system development. Ideal candidates are entry level engineers capable of developing, designing, fabricating, assembling, testing, calibrating, and deploying systems to meet unique technical challenges. They are expected to deliver results in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Understand and apply advanced knowledge of standard theories, concepts, principles, and techniques in engineering. Scope technical tasks and develop creative technical solutions to assigned problems. Accept challenging tasks and receives guidance and direction from senior professionals. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer engineering Preferred Qualifications: Internship or Project Experience developing electrical hardware or customer software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Solutions-oriented person who possesses strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to collaborate and contribute to a team of engineers, technicians, project managers, and other support staff. Security Clearance Information This position will require selected candidate to be able to obtain a DOE Security Clearance. BSRA is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with BSRA require applicants to have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
