Geologist Intern

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Geologist Intern to join our team during the summer of 2025. This person will assist office scientists, engineers, and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This is a temporary role that will be about 3 months long starting in May or June of 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, working field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This is a full-time position located in our Midlothian, VA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

• Serve in a field support and data analytics role, working on technically challenging projects.
• Assist staff with the planning, execution, data analysis, and reporting of site characterization programs on local projects, including but not limited to contaminated site management, civil/environmental engineering, and energy/manufacturing clients.
• Attend one-on-one meetings with staff members to discuss their body of work, career paths, overall experience in the industry, and other topics of interest.
• Attend weekly Lunch and Learns.
• Attend weekly Internship Community Sessions.
• Complete a presentation at the end of the Summer to include, but not limited to overall internship experience, technical projects review, favorite project, biggest obstacle, etc.
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
• Driver’s license highly preferred.
• Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 weeks preferred).
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
• Candidate should be enrolled in a civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering OR a geology or geoscience educational program (undergraduate or graduate).
