Internship opportunities at the ITER Organization Task Title: INT.25.W2.NTP-Blanket Assembly Transporter (BAT) controller Application Deadline: 31/03/2025 Department: ITER Construction Project Division / Program: Machine Assembly Program  Section / Project: Remote Handling Project  Duration (in months): 6 Months Location: France, 13067 St Paul Lez Durance Cedex Short Description: This internship will be focused on integration of robot controller software, hardware, and mechanical rig to create the Blanket Assembly Transporter (BAT) test rig. The Intern will study as well alternative control methods for the BAT robot. Description of tasks: Task 1: Gain familiarity with the BAT robot controller simulator and the test rig. Task 2: Assist in the development of the interface between the software simulator and servo driver hardware. Task 3: Assist in the development of the interface between the software simulator and remote I/O hardware. Task 4: Assist in commissioning of the test rig (integration of software, hardware, and mechanical elements). Task 5: Study alternative control schemes for BAT servo drives and joints. Task 6: Study compensation of robot bending under load. Task 7: Write report on results.
