R&D Formulator and Chemist

We are seeking a talented, passionate, dedicated Sr. Chemist Formulator for one of our portfolio companies, a fast-growing, start-up clean beauty brand. In this role, you'll work closely with our founder to develop cutting-edge, clean beauty, bath, and body products. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean beauty and will work to find ways to make effective products with organic, sustainable ingredients. 

In this role, you will:

• Work with our founder and our contracted lab on the formulation of all types of clean bath and body products including but not limited to creams, lotions, balms, soaps, sprays, and body oils.
• Work to create small batches of our product for testing and distribution.
• Work to stay on top of clean beauty trends, cutting-edge formulation techniques, and new ingredients.
• Advise on new product ideas based on customer feedback. Work independently to test and develop new products. Serve as a consultant on all things related to product development and design. 
• Responsible for determining product specifications and expiration dates.
• Responsible for challenging our manufacturing to ensure that all products meet our quality standards.
• Responsible for monitoring and releasing first-time manufacturing batches.
