IQT’s Applied Research Team explores emerging technologies that are ahead of market. We scope and carry out forward-looking, hands-on projects that help us develop informed thoughts about cross-cutting technology trends. Then, we share what we learn with stakeholders across the national security community to help them prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities & challenges.  We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, forward-thinking person who will bring a diverse viewpoint and deep subject matter expertise to our interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Identify new technology trends that will impact the national security community in 2-5 years. Scope and oversee the execution of interesting and impactful applied research projects to explore the opportunities and challenges of emerging technologies. Extract meaningful lessons learned from the team’s technical work and share these findings with varied audiences across the national security and venture capital ecosystem(s). Qualifications Due to contractual reasons, U.S. Citizenship is required. Active top-secret clearance preferred; must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 7+ years of relevant work experience. Deep expertise in at least one domain area relevant to emerging technology, such as: machine learning/artificial intelligence, security, data science, human-computer interaction, robotics, quantum computing, etc. Advanced degree preferred but not required. Curiosity about the potential benefits and risks of emerging technologies. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and storytelling skills. Strong interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations. Commitment to supporting the US national security mission.
