The Chemical Engineering Intern (summer 2025) will contribute to SRNL’s Tritium Technology mission by applying science and engineering principles to problems related to hydrogen isotope processing.  The intern will assist in various projects that support hydrogen isotope separation, impurity removal, hydrogen storage, or other topics. Work scope may include contributions to process support of operating facilities at the Savannah River Site or other collaborators. Interns are provided an exciting learning environment to develop into the next generation of professional scientists and engineers, explore cutting edge technologies, and make impactful improvements to the tritium science community. Work scope may include contributions to process support of operating facilities at SRS and other collaborators the require hydrogen processing expertise. This may include experimental manifold design, hands-on support for construction of experiments, and data analysis.   Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: HS (or Equiv) + 1 or more yrs of university education Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Security Clearance Information This position will require selected candidate to be able to obtain a DOE Security Clearance. BSRA is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with BSRA require applicants to have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
