Internship opportunities at the ITER Organization Task Title: INT.25.W2.NTP-Laser Decontamination Application Deadline: 31/03/2025 Department: ITER Construction Project Division / Program: Buildings & Site Management Program Section / Project: Hot Cell & Radwaste Project Duration (in months): 6 Months Location: France, 13067 St Paul Lez Durance Cedex Short Description: This internship will focus on the decontamination laser technique: benchmark, performances and limitations, main features of equipment, risk. Description of tasks: Task 1: Benchmark of company developing and using laser techniques for cleaning / decontamination, Task 2: Definition of the cost and volume of the standard equipment to implement laser decontamination, Task 3: Identification of the risks (sunglasses, fire, fume, impact on plastic Personal Protective Equipment like pressurized suit/glovebox gloves, thermal damage to the equipment / burn of plastic seals/materials VS ablation mode option) and limits of the solution for being used as the main decontamination system (distance, materials, use as cleaning/ablating system, wastes/consumables generated).
