SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed geological surveys and assessments for disaster-affected areas, identifying risks and providing recommendations for mitigation and recovery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop recovery and resilience strategies based on geological findings.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to support disaster recovery projects and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize FEMA’s Grants Portal to manage documentation and maintain transparency.
  • Provide expert input for determination memorandums and appeals related to geological issues.
  • Stay current with state licensure, certification, and professional registration requirements where applicable.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior geologists and team members.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
    • Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of experience in a related field.
  • Must meet state licensure, certification, or professional registration requirements where applicable.
  • Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
    • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
    • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
    • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
    • IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
    • IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
    • 7116: Program Delivery Manager
    • 7117: Site Inspection
  • Proficiency in GIS and geological analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of geologic principles, disaster response planning, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Work onsite in North Carolina.
  • EOD Required.
