Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise HR Systems, the HRIS Security Analyst serves as a security specialist for Workday, our current HRIS system. This position is part of a team that supports the day-to-day operations of HRIS and helps ensure that the systems and data are secure to support HR and payroll business processes and programs. This role will focus on the evaluation, design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of robust security frameworks in Workday to meet business objectives of The Heritage Group. The Security Analyst will work with management and subject matter experts to define requirements, build, test and audit security changes (within software and reporting) to meet business requirements. As a HRIS Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our HRIS system, ensuring the security and integrity of our HR and payroll data, and supporting the seamless operation of our business processes.
“This role is remote, with expected travel to the Indianapolis area 2-3 times annually, or as business necessitates. It is preferred for applicants to be located in Eastern or Central time zones”
Essential Functions
- Security Design: Evaluating, designing and implementing security measures to protect company data and ensure compliance with regulations; will involve consulting with other experts, both internal and external, to align security practices. Testing all security requests/changes as various roles within Workday.
- Security Strategy: Partner with Sr. Manager, Enterprise HR Systems, Senior System Architect, and other key stakeholders to develop HRIS security strategy. This will also include identifying strategies, risks, potential opportunities, and recommending approaches and mitigations. Stay up to date with the latest Workday updates, security trends, and best practices, integrating them into the security strategy. Evaluate requests based on business need in relation to our security model to ensure requests meet the security standards. Develop the framework around report security, in collaboration with the report team, to align to the overall strategy.
- System Strategy & Product Releases: Partnering with the Senior System Architect, be actively connect-ed to the Workday roadmap and overall system strategy, understanding the impact of upcoming product releases on current business processes and functionality. As it relates to security, review release notes, assess new features and understand security impacts. Communicate security changes based on approved system changes to user community/stakeholders.
- Security Administration: Implementing security measures for user profiles, roles, and permissions so stakeholders understand how data is being secured; includes reviewing and updating security controls and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards. Point person to drive the user provisioning and de-provisioning process, ensuring timely and accurate updates to user access rights. Maintain tenant level access and security restrictions in line with THG guidelines.
- Daily Product Support: Helping users with security issues and troubleshooting access problems.
- Security Audits: Conduct regular audits of security configurations and user access to ensure compliance with business practices and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain audit logs and reports for review by auditors. Implement continuous monitoring to identify and address potential security violations. Includes collaborating with ITSS to audit and reconcile IT user provisioning.
- Security Reporting: Creating and updating reports on security-related issues. Regular cadence of reporting to Senior Management is required.
- Security Architecture: Researching and configuring Workday security solutions to ensure that all work streams are standardized while partnering with the Senior System Architect to ensure that security con-figuration is in sync with all updates coming in new release from Workday along with our overall system strategy.
- Security Documentation: Create and update comprehensive documentation for security configurations, processes, and protocols. Maintain security forms used for user provisioning and de-provisioning.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (Computer Science/Programming) or applicable experience/credentials of expertise
Experience Qualifications
- Required 3 years (preferred 5+) years of relevant work experience and demonstrated proficiency supporting HRIS systems (Workday, PeopleSoft HCM)
- Experience analyzing requirements, developing, testing, managing releases, and implementations
- Proficient working with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ideally proficient in configuring and managing Workday Security Groups (e.g., Role-Based, User-Based).
- Expertise in managing Domain Security Policies and Business Process Security Policies, a plus.
- Ability to perform Security Audits and User Access Reviews
- Experience with Security Configuration Migration using Workday Object Transporter (OOT) is ideal.
- Knowledge of Segregation of Duties (SoD) principles and their implementation
- Familiarity with ERP or HRIS Security Reports
- Working experience with Workday and Viewpoint security model, a plus.
