Under the general supervision of the O’Malley Chair and Bioethics Director, the person hired for this position will assist the Director in a number of research related tasks at the Institute for the remainder of the Fall 2024 semester.
Among others, assist with the data collection and material for the minor on AI, Ethics, and Society, help the director imagine and execute promotional programming at the Institute, develop strategies for advertising the Institute and its activities within and outside the university, assist with the editing of manuscripts, and conduct research on behalf of the director, leading to new scholarly publications.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Data collection and entry for APRC application for the AI, Ethics, and Society minor.
- Gather and compile data across colleges on behalf of the Bioethics Institute academic programs.
- Support event programming at the Institute through development of promotional programming.
- Perform comprehensive literature reviews and contribute to the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, grants, and reports.
- Develop social platform strategies for advertising the Institute within and outside the university.
- Assist on the production of scholarly articles and manuscripts.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requisite Qualifications
- Typically, a Master’s degree in either philosophy or bioethics. Candidate will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
- Minimum 1 year’s research experience with a strong understanding and verifiable application of research methods.
- Demonstrated computer competency and some knowledge of SPSS and EXCEL for statistical analyses.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
