As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization for Internet of Things (IoT) Security and Endpoint Vulnerability Management team, you serve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. 

Job responsibilities

  • Executes security solutions design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to apply knowledge of existing security solutions to satisfy security requirements for internal clients (e.g., product, platform, application owners)
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Applies specialized tools (e.g., vulnerability scanner) to analyze and correlate incident data to identify, interpret, and summarize the probability and impact of threats when determining specific vulnerabilities
  • Leads delivery of continuity-related awareness, training, educational activities, and exercises
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering and cybersecurity concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT) domain, platforms & Machine to Machine (M2M) communication
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management for end-user applications, tools and devices.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Proficient in coding in one of more languages to include C/C++, Java and Python.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, applicant resiliency, and security
  • Understanding of operating systems – Window, iOS and/or Unix
  • Experience in public cloud environment with BYOD ecosystem 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of virtualization, networking and network security practices (firewalls, encryption, and secure architecture)
  • Experience with working with endpoint security tools, such as Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, McAfee, etc.
  • Embedded system and device development. 
  • Certifications in one or more of the following
    • Security: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • Cloud:  AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Developer certification
    • Networking: Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/P), VMWare Certified Technical Associate - Network Virtualization (VCTA-NV)
