Assistant to the Instructor of the General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry Laboratories (CHEM 107, CHEM 108, CHEM 151, CHEM 207, and CHEM 208) as well as a Safety TA position. The student TA will help students taking the course through their laboratory work, including problem solving, equipment demonstration, troubleshooting, and preparation. The TA will attend weekly pre-lab lectures and weekly labs. 

Responsibilities:

  • The student TA will be expected to interact with students in a respectful manner, in keeping with the values of the Ursinus Community. They will attend a weekly pre-lab lecture and attend the three-hour lab.  We expect 3.5 hrs of work per week, for roughly 12 weeks. 
  • The Safety TA will check eye wash stations and safety showers and report results via QR code.

 Requirements:

  • Must be a full-time student at Ursinus College
  • Must have completed the CHEM 107L and CHEM 108L or CHEM 151L and have approval of the department to be a TA for general chemistry courses
  • Must have also completed the CHEM 207L and CHEM 208L courses and have approval of the department to be a TA for organic chemistry courses
