Care Logistics, a part of the Jackson Healthcare family of companies, is seeking an Independent Contractor - Technical Writer to assist their growing company. The Independent Contractor - Technical Writer should have proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a technology or software development environment. They should possess a strong understanding of technical concepts and software development processes, and have the ability to communicate them clearly to a diverse audience. Experience with technical writing tools such as MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Confluence, or similar tools as well as familiarity with markup languages like HTML and XM along with version control systems like Git are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, installation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Write, edit, and format content for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company style and branding guidelines.
  • Organize and structure content to improve usability and accessibility for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Update and revise documentation based on product updates, user feedback, and evolving technologies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, client services, customer support, and marketing, to ensure all content is aligned with product development, supports the defined process, and meets user needs.
  • Research and analyze complex information and develop simplified documentation that can be easily understood by end users.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and best practices for readability, searchability, and user experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems (CMS).
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
